Does anyone even bother renting movies from rental places anymore? We now have many streaming services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, a Showtime streaming service, and so on. We also have free movie streaming services like; Crackle, Popcorn Flix and a few others. Plus we also have kiosks known as Rebox where people can rent movies and games right from a box.

With that said, are traditional movie rental places done for? Blockbuster is pretty much gone. There's a movie/game rental place in my town that's still around, but I have a feeling it wont last too long, especially when people can rent movies on their tvs and computers for about the same price. I feel bad though, cause video rental places were a part of my childhood and I loved going through and looking at the movies. Those days are nearing an end.

Actually the last time I rented a movie was back in 2012 when this video store was near closure. They were going for only one more month and rentals were on the cheap and I could choose to buy the movie if I wanted to. I haven't since rented from a movie store ever. I did rent from a Redbox once not too long ago, but that was about it. I mainly focus on the likes of netflix and renting through flixster, or google play.

I rented a movie called American Hustle from redbox and the most recent metal gear solid game from there too. That was the last time i actually rented something and i did it just because i felt like buying a movie for a change. BTW I used to pirate my movies and games. Am I a bad person? Maybe. But i did it to save money. Now i go to the movies again and i legit buy my games. #IAmAGoodPersonISwear

Anyways, Yes,I think it's right to say that the idea of renting is dying. Mabye in a couple of years renting will be a complete thing of the past. Not only to streaming services but pirating as well. Since i feel like that had a bigger impact on movie businesses like Blockbuster.

I'm gonna miss that blockbuster across the street from my local supermarket. Gone but never forgotten.

There's a big store still doing good around here, but it's a Family Video. It's surprising to see them still doing quite good, but I suspect most movie rental places will be gone in the next 10 years or so.
