At this point in the growth of this business, this will be a positive. It will give the site owners more money to continue and grease the wheels a bit.

Exactly. This is a very different situation to what happened at Goozex. This site has a lot more members now and needs more points in the system to keep it flowing. Having too few points in circulation is as bad as having too many.

Yeah, I am not usually for selling credits at less than face value but sometimes after a growth spurt it is justifiable to have a credit discount sale to stimulate trading.  This site recently added a good chunk of traders so it seems fitting to add a bit of currency to the market especially since LeapTrade has recently removed credits from the system with the Alpha Strike promo.  The 25% off with the $15 free cap per user seems like the perfect amount to encourage some credit buying without getting carried away.

That's a good point about the points being removed by the Leap Alpha Strike promotion.  I bought in on the credit sale since I think it is a good thing.  I needed it as I suspect other traders do as well.  One of my games said buy credits since I was short so I don't want to miss out on that one.

Like others have already said, this limited sale was a very calculated move to increase the trading flow.  We've had some great growth with lots of games being traded in, and on top of that Alpha Strike made credits even more scarce.  This was done to help trading as a whole.

This will not be a regular occurance, and we have no current plans to offer this again.

There is no need to worry about the health of the economy here.  We keep a close eye on the credit/game ratio and have already demonstrated our willingness to pull credit out of the system if necessary.

Leap - I don't know how the trading currency is going these days on Leap BUT I just had to buy credits and I was thinking another limited sale of discounted credits would sure be nice.  I would be all over that.

Any thoughts on how the site health and the gamer trading is going would be great.  I know my trade numbers have shot up and I have not been on here that long to trade yet.  Thanks.

Something we could look into.  What do you all think about doing another credit sale?

It's a little tough to know because you set the game prices and you have data about the currency (how much there is, how much is "mid transaction" etc . . . How many users there are. From my little corner of the world it looks like we have slight inflation. Game prices here are a bit higher than elsewhere. That would suggest we need less currency not more.

In some ways this should be a self-correcting problem. I can find several good flips to send in here if I need leap bucks. I'm betting Gamer can too. That's why he wants a 2:1 sale. That's a better deal than the flips I can find but if we do have an inflation problem it would make it worse.

The last sale was only 25% off so I don't think anyone asked for a 2 to 1 sale.

I agree with the Count that it is really all about the numbers and data that only LeapTrade has access to.

I would think it would be ok to have a discounted credit sale once in a while as long as the site is steadily growing the user base and amount of available games.

Having another sale might be a good way to attract some of those Facebook/Twitter followers that have not signed up here yet. There are thousands of them who have not signed up yet who might be more tempted if you promote the sale on Facebook/Twitter.

The currently popular (mis?)quote "You shut your wh*re mouth!" is the first thing that comes to mind, but I'm not gonna actually say it...
