Make a mobile app so that whenever I am in public and have some spare time to look at leap trade.

can you please make leaptrade available in canada

I am sure they are looking into it, but cross border shipping is either quite expensive, or very complex to make it not expensive, from what I gather.

If I remember correctly, a 6 oz game in a case might cost like $8 to ship to Canada, and there is no cross border tracking or anything.

I love the way shipping is integrated and that there is a per trade revenue stream for leaptrade, so don't take this as any attempt to change that. In fact, if leap can buy cross-border labels (I know I can purchase US->Canada online but that is as an individual) then a really easy solution is to allow sellers to tack on a shipping surcharge of $0-$5. If they max it out the game sells for $5 more to a cross border trading partner, but the real shipping cost is pretty much the same.

That would take care of a good chunk of what is happening but I can still think of another couple of trading types where you break from tracked shipping through LT:  1) cross border disc only 2) Within Canada trading (I don't think anyone has been successful at getting labels for those) and 3) digital trades.

I think LT could still do some cost recovery with all three. A person would pay say $15 for a game, but only $14 would go to the seller, the other $1 would go to LT to cover expenses.  That would take currency out of the system and eventually it would make sense for people to buy more which is when LT would actually get paid.  People dialed in disc only cross border trades on other sites, it was actually cheaper than shipping within the states. But I'm not convinced it followed the letter of the shipping laws so it would have to be a "don't ask don't tell" kind of policy. You get your game there however you like.  Digital would require no shipping at all, and given the way things are going LT will have to make this "leap" at some point.

count, great comments, digital is on our list to tackle first, and we've been thinking about cross border shipping as well.  Some of your ideas might go alongside some of the other things we were planning.

t13me12roper, you're right, we're always going to be improving the site and making things better, is there anything specific you are referring to?

There still needs to be a way to search for a specific game and have it list which of your friends have it. As it is, you have to go through each of your friends' lists one by one.

Yes, I'm hoping this is going to be in the next update too. I think LT said it was planned(?), it would certainly make the Friend to Friend thing more appealing.

I was hoping to see the above in this release...oh well. Maybe next time.

We haven't forgotten about that, we just needed to get some fundmental changes to trades out there first.  So now, for example, you don't have to cancel your other trades to make a F2F offer.

When I type in a name of a game in the search bar, a list of 10-20 people who have that game in their collection should be listed also when that person was last on the site to avoid inactives.

We're always looking for ways to improve the site, and we appreciate the suggestion.  However, we aren't looking to add "setting your own price trading" currently.
