What was your first experience with PCs?

What was your first ever experience with a PC? For me it was when my parents had a Commador 64. I remember playing video games on it so much, and I really enjoyed it. But sadly, it just up and died on us one day. I then got an old Apple computer from a yard sale, well my grandmother did and I played with that for a while, but I remember being an idiot and smashing the screen with a hammer. Which was dumb because I could have sold it today for some money.

Anyways, I then got connected to the web I think in 2002 or so. First time I ever used the web, and it was on this crappy Windows 95 PC which was outdated big time with Windows 98 and XP were already out if I recall.

Discuss your first experience with a PC.

Wow, well the first time was probably windows DOS man. I remember having to connect by typing dos prompts. My dad would show me what to do and I would forget and often have lines of text trying to figure out what to do next. I hated how hard it was to get used to. I'm happy it's gotten a lot easier.

My first experience was with an old Windows 3 PC my parents owned. I didn't really use it since my dad used it for work, but when I did he would put games on it and let me play. It was fun back then, new and exciting.

I got to play around with DOS in high school during computer maintenance and repair. Wasn't fun, so I feel your pain.

My first experience was a windows 95 PC as well, and we had AOL. Wow what odd times those were. I remember getting into chat rooms and chatting with random strangers. I was a dumb kid who would start trouble. So glad I'm not doing that anymore.

Windows 3.1.  I didn't do much on it besides mess around with this colorful file cabinet thing that I can no longer recall too clearly that must have been designed for children (I think I was 8 at the time) and making some random junk with MSPaint, but only a couple of years later I was making some really basic programs in QBASIC which ultimately set me on the path to my programming career.

I currently run Ubuntu Linux, though, so my very early experience on a Windows PC didn't influence my choice of operating system.

Cool cool. I remember the old stype paint, was weird to play with if I remember. And I use Ubuntu as well. Been using it since like 2010 I think. I like the idea of not having to deal with any viruses and such. I really should learn to code. I took a course in website construction, but didn't learn a ton.

My first experience was with some random PC I don't quite remember. My dad used it to write his books, but he was never a success with that. I used to play some games based around floppy discs and that was it. I remember one being this really onscure wrestling game. Wish I could remember the name.

I also would like to note that I was horrible with PCs back in the day. Got so many viruses and such. I've learned a lot since those days.

I had an old Mac computer, one of the iMacs I believe. Was awesome at the time. Really loved how simple it was for me to get used to.
