woman’s will asks that her dog be euthanized and buried with her

This is sad. An elderly woman who passed away had in her will, that if she were to die, that she'd want her dog to be either put in a shelter by a friend or euthenized and barried with her. The friend of the deceased had the choice of either allowing the dog to live in a shelter or just euthenizing the dog, she chose to have the dog die.

There's a chance the dog can go to a santuary, where she can live the rest of her life there, but they need to test her health first to see if she can stay. If not, she will most likely be put down.

What do you think about this? Is it odd to have it in a will to have your dog euthenized after a human dies?

I think it's a sick, self-centered request. Just because your life ends, that doesn't mean your pet's life is worthless all of a sudden. That's like a mother requesting her kids be put down after she dies.

Yeah it's pretty pathetic that this dog could face death because of a will. I really hope the place takes the dog, because from the picture, the dog looks pretty healthy. But then again I can't tell if the dog is healthy that way.

Pretty sad, the idea that a dog could be put down because a will asks for it. It's dumb how the law works sometimes. Here's hoping this dog gets to live out the rest of her life in true happiness.

I could see when the dog dies when nature decides it's right, but to euthenize the dog to be burried with the owner is weird. Let the dog live the rest of her life and then burry her when the time comes.
