Homefront: The Revolution is the upcoming sequel to the original Homefront. Set after the events of the first game, it moves the setting to the city of Philadelphia, where a resistance continues to fight against a North Korean invasion.
Homefront: The Revolution, initially announced as Homefront 2, began development at Kaos Studios, the developer of the original game. However, after the studio closed, development was passed onto Crytek UK. After the game's original publisher THQ filed for bankruptcy and liquidated its intellectual properties, Crytek purchased the Homefront IP outright and continued development with Deep Silver signed on as the new publisher. Following Crytek's own financial struggles, the Homefront IP was sold to Deep Silver and is currently in development at Deep Silver Dambuster Studios, a brand new studio.
