Overview
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War is a first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
The game had additional development by High Moon Studios, Beenox, Activision Shanghai, and Sledgehammer Games.
Announcement
Despite various early leaks, the official announcement came on August 26th, 2020. A trailer was shown in-game in the Warzone mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A full press release was also posted on Activision's blog.
The game was announced to include not only cross platform multiplayer, but also cross generation multiplayer.
Multiplayer Reveal
On September 9th, 2020 Activision and Treyarch revealed many details about the multiplayer in an online event. This revealed game modes, maps, create-a-class system, as well as other details.
